2/28/08 Appearances Update I will be appearing at Hillsboro Public Library, Hillsboro, Illinois at their annual Wine-Beer Tasting and Book Signing event on Sat., March 8,2008 from five to seven p.m. 8/10/2007 Appearances Update I will be appearing at Barnes and Noble in Springfield, IL on August 18th, 2007 from 10am-Noon. I will be signing books, or anything you bring, and answering questions about my novel, Beyond the Shadows of Summer. The timing is perfect as my book is set at the Illinois State Fair! I can't wait to eat a Vose's corn dog!!! 6/28/2007 Life Update Okay so I've been away from this website far too long, but I'm back!!! I think it is time to begin writing my second book. I have recently submitted my first film to the Route 66 Film Festival. It is entitled, BTV - Bucktooth Vampire. Not much else to say about it after that. I'm going to try and post it on YouTube after the festival. I also can't wait to read the latest Harry Potter novel. Anyway, thanks for hangin' in there with me and keep checking back for more updates on my new novel. 9/7/2006 Appearances Update Exciting news!!! I have been asked to attend the 2006 Illinois Authors Book Fair in downtown Springfield. I am both honored and delighted about this news. Thank you to District 186 for recommending me and to all of the people at the State Library who believe in inspiring our youth to read and write. I am constantly reminded by our youth as to why Springfield is a great place to live. Please read my blog update for more insight. 7/12/2006 Contest Update I am carefully reviewing the fiction contest submissions. Results will be posted on the website soon. Good Luck! 7/12/2006 Appearances Update I will be at the Lincoln Library today at 2pm running a writers' workshop for children 12-16 years of age. I hope to see you there. 7/1/2006 Contest Update Thank you to all of the Springfield area teens who submitted stories to me for the One Page Fiction Contest. I am excited to read them and wish you all the best of luck. Keep up the good writing and I hope to see you at Lincoln Library! 6/28/2006 Appearances Update I am running a workshop for young writers at the Lincoln Library on June 28th at 2pm. I am excited to meet all of Springfield's future writers. My workshop for teens will be in two weeks. I'll post the time and date soon. 5/2/06 Appearances Update I will be speaking at Lincoln Library's "The Write Stuff" awards reception on May 3rd at 7pm. This will be my opportunity to kick off the Springfield Teen Fiction contest. I will have copies of Beyond the Shadows of Summer on hand. 4/18/06 Appearances Update My interview with Jiffy Johnson of WNPR radio will air on Thursday, 4/20/06 (6:30pm), and again on 4/23 at 3:30pm. It will be available in WNPR's website archives soon after. Stay tuned for the announcement of the Beyond the Shadows of Summer Springfield teen-fiction writing contest!!! 3/31/06 Appearances Update I will be interviewing with Jiffy Johnson on WNPR in April, discussing Beyond the Shadows of Summer and my Teen Reading Initiative. The spot will air twice on 91.9FM WUIS (April 27th, 6:30pm, and April 30, 3:30pm). 3/26/06 Website update Fun, Fun, Fun online games, like Sudoku, have been added to the site. Visit Fizz's arcade (link at bottom of page) to enter. 3/9/06 Appearances Update Exciting News: I will be returning to Boston, the place that launched my OT career, and the location I wrote the majority of Beyond the Shadows of Summer. I can't wait to see all of my friends in, and around, Boston. I'm also scheduled to speak at Bedford LABBB (high school class). I can't wait to see all of my old students!!! 1/6/06 Appearances Update Amanda Reavy of the State Journal Register has done it again and written a brilliant follow up article to her State Fair article this summer. Happy Friday! 12/6/05 Book Store Update Great News: My book has arrived at Borders Express in Springfield Mall! They are currently selling signed copies, which are displayed at the front of the store. Additionally, Waldenbooks at Decatur Mall, and Haines & Essick Co, a fabulous store in Decatur, have just ordered Beyond the Shadows of Summer as well. I will be signing those copies when they arrive. 12/1/05 Appearances Update A special thanks goes out to all members of the Central Illinois Reading Council (CIRC) for allowing me to come and speak at their conference. Teachers are the most integral component to the future of our country and our children. Prairie Archives in downtown Springfield (522 E Adams St) has signed copies for sale. Special thanks to them and stop into their store to show them your support. 9/27/05 Update I have some great news: I have just been asked to speak at the Central Illinois Reading Council's (CIRC) December 1st conference. I am so excited to share my thoughts about reading and writing with the teachers of Illinois.
